After 26 years since the last release of the series, SNK is bringing back the acclaimed fighting game franchise with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Scheduled for release on April 24, 2025, the game promises to reinvigorate the series with new characters, improved mechanics and a renewed gaming experience.

Return of a Legend

The Fatal Fury series, which began in 1991, played a crucial role in popularizing fighting games in the 90s. The last main title, Garou: Mark of the Wolveswas released in 1999 and since then fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel. With City of the WolvesSNK aims to meet these expectations by offering a direct sequel to the events of Mark of the Wolves.

Release Date and Platforms

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is scheduled for release on April 24, 2025. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, via the Steam and Epic Games Store platforms. Players who opt for the digital pre-order will have three days' early access and will be able to start their journey on April 21, 2025.

Editions and Contents

The game will be released exclusively in the "Special Edition" version, which includes the base game and Season Pass 1, at a price of $59.99/€59.99. There are currently no plans to sell the base game and Season Pass 1 separately. In addition, those who pre-order will receive a special skin for Terry Bogard, inspired by his classic appearance from Fatal Fury 2.

Playable characters

City of the Wolves will feature a diverse cast of 17 playable characters at launch, combining familiar faces and new challengers. Among the confirmed characters are:

  • Terry Bogard: The iconic protagonist of the series returns with his characteristic fighting style.
  • Rock HowardSon of Geese Howard and protégé of Terry, he combines the techniques of both fighters.
  • Mai Shiranui: The fan-favorite kunoichi returns with her ninjutsu skills and flaming attacks.
  • Hotaru Futaba: Known for her graceful fighting style and search for her missing brother.
  • Cat: A mysterious fighter with a dark past, Hotaru's brother.
  • B. JenetLeader of the Lillien Knights pirates, he has an acrobatic and unpredictable fighting style.
  • Billy Kane: A loyal follower of Geese Howard, he uses his bat lethally.
  • Kevin RianDedicated police officer who seeks justice with his hand-to-hand combat skills.
  • Kim Dong HwanKim Kaphwan's eldest son, he combines taekwondo with electrical techniques.
  • Marco Rodrigues: Also known as Khushnood Butt, he is a master of Kyokugen karate.
  • Tizoc: Masked wrestler known as "The Griffon".
  • Preecha: New character with unique combat skills.
  • Vox ReaperAnother newcomer who promises to bring something new to the squad.
  • Kain R. Heinlein: Antagonist of Mark of the Wolves, returns with his powerful techniques.

In addition to these, Season Pass 1 will bring five additional characters:

  • Andy Bogard: Terry's brother, master of the Shiranui style of ninjutsu.
  • Joe Higashi: Close friend of the Bogard brothers, specialist in Muay Thai.
  • Mr. Big: Notorious villain of the series Art of Fightingknown for his tonfas.
  • Ken Masters: Renowned fighter from the series Street Fighterbringing his Shotokan style.
  • Chun-Li: The "First Lady of Fighting Games" by Street Fighter, famous for his lightning kicks.

The inclusion of Ken and Chun-Li marks a historic crossover between Fatal Fury e Street FighterThe new game will expand the combat possibilities and attract fans of both franchises.
